I am headed to Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). A Generous Life heard of a project that was going on half way around the world. Joana the Executive Director of this project started in 2007, when she was asked by one of her friends to come there and teach children. She went and learned about the terrible plight of these children. She agreed to help them set up two orphanages. In 2008, Cyclone Nargis hit the coast and their newly opened orphanages more than doubled the amount of children and currently are the homes for 100 children. This was just the beginning for them. Now years later they are working all over the country, teaching children, teaching adults about community development, and working on many relief efforts in emergency situations.
A Generous Life prides itself on checking out all of its partners to the best of our ability prior to making any commitments to anyone. This trip is just that, it’s an exploratory trip to see if this is the right partnership for A Generous Life and most of all, if its the partnership for all of our supporters.
We are very excited about the possibilities!
