On April 25th the country was hit by the Gorkha Earthquake, which has claimed more than 7,000 lives. Pictured here is the Gorkha district, where hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless overnight, and in the days ahead we know that clean water is going to become a huge issue. Our friends in Nepal are from this district and are currently helping the people with various immediate needs.
Over the last 7 months A Generous Life has been in conversation with this group in Nepal that has been reaching out to extreme poor villages in the North of the country and on the out skirts of Kathmandu. We were in the planning to head there on May 17th, but because of other commitments we were unable to put the trip together. We now know that Nepal and this group was introduced to us for a reason.
A Generous Life’s has a goal to raise the money to purchase 50 Sawyer Water Filters, the total cost is only $1,500. Sawyer Water Filters is helping with this goal by providing the filters at 30% off our normal cost. These filters will be sent with one of our friends that is leaving for Kathmandu on Sunday May 17th.
For every $30 we raise, we will be able to supply 1 Sawyer Water Filter is capable of producing 5 gallons or more of clean water every 20 minutes. When we reach our goal of 50 filters, they will be able to produce 250 gallons of clean water every 20 minutes.
Thank you in advance for anything that you can do!
