The vision for A Generous Life was birthed in the summer of 2006, when the founder was standing in a barrio outside of Trujillo, Peru. He realized that amazing things were being done by Project New Hope in Trujillo and that the rest of the world would probably never hear about it. At that point he decided that everyone needed to hear about projects like this one and others around the world. In 2007, he and his board of directors founded A Generous Life.
For the following five years he worked with Project New Hope, bringing 100’s of generous people down to Trujillo to see firsthand what they were doing on the ground. In addition, he traveled to Africa, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic seeing and working with potential partners for the future of A Generous Life.
In the fall of 2012, he and the Board of Directors decided it was time to launch A Generous Life to the world. In May of 2013, A Generous Life was live to the world, with a couple of projects already set to go for the summer of 2013.
At A Generous Life, we strive to connect generous people to projects around the world that reach out to the extreme poor, the marginalized, and the forgotten. We support projects working on long term solutions for permanent change in the lives of the people they are reaching. We provide hope to those in need through unconditional love, encouragement, and support.
We have many opportunities in which generous individuals can participate. One way is to donate money to a specific cause, like bringing clean water and food to those that lack either. Another way is to donate resources to a project, like shoes, medicines, and education. We also have opportunities for individuals to join a team on one of our many trips to our partner’s locations around the world.
